Food fair gets cooking with taste of Gino

You can expect a long queue of women checking out Gino D'Acampo's cookery skills this weekend.

But the celebrity chef said yesterday he only flirts with female fans in order to teach them how to cook.

Appearing at Taste of Dublin 2011, which runs until Sunday in the Iveagh Gardens, the 34-year-old said he is fully prepared for the besotted fans who want to get a hold of him rather than his tiramisu.

"The ladies run up and give me kisses but I don't mind," he said. "What man wouldn't enjoy the attention? But it's just a technique to get them watching my cooking."

The TV chef kept his clothes on yesterday after famously cooking in the nude on ITV's 'This Morning' earlier this year.

The 'in the raw' appearance came about after the Italian promised to cook naked if the show won a TV award, which it duly did. Station bosses were then forced to raise kitchen worktops in the studio to protect his modesty.

"I made a silly promise to strip. Did I regret it ? No, we did it in a way where I wasn't showing off," he said.

D'Acampo will be joined by other top chefs at Taste of Dublin 2011, including Antony Worall Thompson and Conrad Gallagher.
