Kate Winslet names baby boy 'Bear'
Kate Winslet has reportedly named her son Bear.
The 38-year-old actress and her third husband Ned Rocknroll welcomed a baby boy earlier this month.
According to UK newspaper The Sun, the couple have chosen a unique moniker for the infant.
"They are doing well, they both absolutely adore him - and the name Bear," a source said.
The Oscar-winning actress met Sir Richard Branson's nephew Ned on the Virgin tycoon's private Necker Island in 2011. During the holiday Kate rescued Richard's 89-year-old mother Eve from a fire and it was rumoured their child's name would memorialise the event in some way, although it is unclear if that's the case.
According to The Sun, baby Bear has taken his mother's surname.
MailOnline reports Ned's birth certificate verifies his given name as Smith, but he opted to change it legally when he became an adult.
Kate recently admitted she liked the idea of carrying on her last name, and never considered taking on Rocknroll.
"I was never going to change my name to Rocknroll. I've never changed my name to anything so I didn't see a reason to start now," she told British newspaper The Telegraph. "I quite like Kate Winslet; in fact I think it's very flashy. I'm proud of my name because I'm one of three girls and we have one boy in our family so essentially the only person who is going to carry the name along is my brother and he doesn't have any children at the moment."
