It's another girl! Baby Lourdes makes an appearance in Liverpool maternity hospital
LIVERPOOL captain Steven Gerrard has become a dad for the third time, after wife Alex gave birth to their third daughter yesterday afternoon, it has been announced.
Little baby Lourdes was born at 4pm on Tuesday and weighed 7lb 15oz.
The couple’s spokesman said Gerrard, 31, was present at the birth and “both mum and baby are doing well”.
The couple already have two daughters – Lilly-Ella, seven, and five-year-old Lexie.
They were not the first celebrity parents to call their child Lourdes – Madonna gave the same name to her first-born in 1996.
Lourdes is also the name of the French town to which millions of Catholic pilgrims travel every year and where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to a 14-year-old girl Bernadette Soubiroux in 1858.
Both Steven and Alex are said to be practicing Catholics. Gerrard attended a catholic secondary school and the couple were married in a catholic ceremony in 2007.
