In her last column for Mothers & Babies last month, the new mum said daughter Elsie was as good as gold – but added that it could all change overnight.

“Well it didn’t all change – but some of it did.

“Elsie’s feeding is still going really well and she sleep through the night apart from two or three feeds of course.

“What did change for us are the evenings – our little lady isn’t a fan of them,” Pamela explained.

Elsie’s big brother Harrison is two – and Pamela said she won’t be stressing too much this Christmas.

“So only a few weeks to go and I haven’t a thing done for the big day.

“Nothing new there really, I’m always the last to get organised for Christmas but I had promised myself this year would be different and I’d have everything bought, wrapped and under the tree for December 1st.

“Truth is I have nothing bough so far and the tree is most definitely not up either. I could let it bother me but I’ve decided that I won’t do the stress thing this year.

“Babies don’t appreciate stressed mammies. What they do like is a mammy who doesn’t spend a clatter of days in December pushing them around the shops but who will sit and watch a Christmas movie with them and get them excited or help them write their letters to Santa.”

And she has some practical advice for parents when it comes to presents,.

“Last year Harrison got three gifts from Santa, the cheapest of which was a little foam chair armchair which he absolutely loves and uses every single day. So a lesson learnt there. It’s about buying clever rather than flashing the cash,” she added.
