With kids these days expecting us to entertain them rather than the other way round, throwing them outdoors with nothing but a football and a homemade ice-lolly practically verges on neglect. Co Meath: The Easter Bunny’s Secret House at Grove Gardens
Curious kids keen to get a look behind the scenes may enjoy a trek through the Easter Bunny Burrow.
Set in the beautiful surroundings of the Grove Gardens in County Meath, the Easter event takes place on April 25th and will incorporate games, face painting and even a special meet and greet with the Easter Bunny herself!
Should this not be enough to keep the little'uns amused there will also be dinners spent feeding the resident farm animals and the chance to parrot away with some of the tropical birds.

Co Kerry: The Tír na nÓg Family Festival
Finally a truly kid-friendly festival! Anyone heading down to the town of Tralee will see the place transformed over the Easter break as for ten days the Kerry town will become a giant playground.
The Tír na nÓg festival has plenty to offer by way of egg hunts, puppet shows and nature walks and also boasts some livelier activities in the form of pantomime horse races and a Mad Hatter's Tea Party.
Should all that not be enough there are also Aqua Dome activities and a hamster run!

Co Mayo: Westport House and Pirate Adventure Park
If your brood ranges in age finding something that works for all the bunch is always going to be difficult so thank heavens for Westport House and Pirate Adventure Park!
The little ones can thrill at the chance to take an egg hunt through the Westport House gardens with resident Easter Bunny Pinkie and those kids who might be just a bit too old for all that Easter folklore will be able to enjoy a host of rides including a Pirates Plunge and a Cannonball Run.

Co Wicklow: Glenroe Farm Easter Festival
Big kids as well as little kids will be more then impressed with a visit to Glenroe Farm in Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow this Easter.
The three day event runs on Easter Saturday, Sunday and Monday and will feature daily egg races, face painting and spot prizes guaranteed to get the little ones laughing.
For older children , the farm is also home to a large selection of farm animals and pets as well as a farmhouse museum and outdoor playground.
For parents a little frayed by having to spend so much time with their little angels, the farm also has a sensory garden which guarantees to calm those shattered nerves.

Crafty parents looking to prise the kids away from the DS on Easter Sunday will love the The Arty Bits Easter Craft Fair in Tralee,
Co.Kerry. Running at the Carlton Hotel in Tralee, highlights of the day will include arts and crafts sessions, fancy dress up's for children and a roving entertainer to go with a craft themed Easter Bunny and egg hunt.
