Black-Eyed Peas singer Fergie gives birth to her first child
Black Eyed Peas star Fergie has become a mother.
A representative for the singer said she gave birth to 7lb 10oz Axl Jack Duhamel today.
Axl Jack is Fergie and actor Josh Duhamel's first child. The 38-year-old singer married the 40-year-old actor in 2009. She officially changed her name from Stacy Ann Ferguson to Fergie Duhamel this month.
Fergie is one quarter of the Black Eyed Peas. She released her solo debut, The Dutchess, in 2006. The album launched five big hits, including Fergalicious and Big Girls Don't Cry.
Duhamel has appeared on television shows including ABC's All My Children and in films such as Transformers.
The 38-year-old Black-Eyed Peas singer arrived to a Los Angeles hospital with her husband this morning.
TMZ reported the star went in for a previously-scheduled C-section to deliver their baby boy.
Fergie will reportedly recuperate afterwards in a VIP suite famously used by new mom Kim Kardashian.
The reality star and boyfriend Kanye West welcomed their daughter North into the world in June and Josh recently revealed he and Fergie had to reconsider their favourite name for their unborn child as a result.
"I grew up in North Dakota so we were going to name it North but Kim and Kanye took that," Josh told E! News.
"It's a fairly traditional name but you don't hear it very often," Josh said. "It means a lot to both of us and part of it is a family name."
