The former Miss Ireland was released from Holles Street maternity hospital on Saturday and went home just in time for the annual celebration.

Speaking about her joy at welcoming her new arrival into the world, she said: "My first Mother's Day as a mum to beautiful Sophie. It really is the best feeling in the world."

The Tipperary native (36) is "over the moon" after having her first baby with her proud husband Rob White.

They welcomed in their new arrival a week ago at 12.40pm last Monday, and both mother and baby are doing great.

Andrea and Rob, who are married two years this summer, have been inundated with congratulations in the wake of their happy news.

Everyone from Georgia Salpa to Rosanna Davison and Pippa O'Connor sent her messages wishing her well after she had her baby.

The busy owner of AR Agency, Andrea will now take some well-earned time off to enjoy baby Sophie and get to grips with being a mum.

A source said: "She runs her own business so it will be hard for her to take too much time off, but definitely a few months anyway as she gets used to the routine and the sleepless nights."

Andrea continued to work for most of her pregnancy, running her firm, appearing as a stylist on Ireland AM as well as juggling her agency work.

The Celebrity Bainisteoir star married Rob at a ceremony in the Atzaro resort in Ibiza in July 2012.

He went down on bended knee and asked her to marry him during a romantic trip to Paris the previous Christmas.

An organiser of the Miss Universe Ireland pageant, she has been credited with discovering many of Ireland's best-known models. She also runs a bootcamp through her agency that teaches girls all the tricks of the modelling trade.
