'Excellent' graphics encouraged more care
Junior Certificate Technology
A QUESTION about hybrid eco-friendly cars proved popular with students taking the technology paper in the Junior Cert yesterday.
It came under the heading 'Technology and Society' in the higher-level paper.
John Campbell, from St Columba's Comprehensive School in Glenties, Co Donegal, said his 15 students were very happy with the paper, which had much the same format as in previous years.
Yesterday's paper was worth 50pc of the marks for higher-level students. The remainder is accounted for by a project and portfolio, which were done earlier in the academic year by the students.
ASTI representative Seamus Walshe said the graphics on both the higher and ordinary-level papers were excellent.
He said this encouraged students to be clear and careful with their own work.
