To tackle the problem of kicking cattle, Aaron Coughlan, Patrick O'Shaughnessy and Patrick Byrnes came up with an ingenious invention, the Cow Tail Lifter.

After the animal is put into the stall, a farmer clips the device on to the bars and it automatically lifts the cow's tail and disengages the muscles, preventing it from kicking.

The young entrepreneurs went on to win a European Junior Achievement Award and appeared on a BBC breakfast programme.

It was the second year in a row that Salesian Secondary College won the National Junior Achievement Company of the Year.

Last year's winners 'Sign4Life' designed a mobile phone application used to teach sign language in Irish.
