The woman who received a gift of £9000 to pay for IVF by the late George Michael has given birth.

Lynette Gillard (38) struggled with infertility for 13 years and shared her story on an episode of Deal or No Deal in 2008.

She said she needed the money to pay for another round of IVF after five failed attempts and the Wham! star, who happened to be watching, called producers at Channel 4 and offered the gift of the full amount.

Gillard has now given birth to a baby boy, Seth Logan George Hart, with partner Nathan Hart after discovering she was pregnant on Christmas Day last year, the same day George Michael passed away.

"I hope he’s looking down smiling, knowing I have what I’ve always longed for," she told The Sun.  "He believed in me and gave me hope to keep trying even when I felt it was useless."

Thanks to George's donation she had four more rounds of IVF which unfortunately all failed.  However, she was also able to pay for expensive tests which revealed that her immune system was attacking the embryos.

Armed with this knowledge and medication to counteract the issue she was due to undergo another round of IVF, but she fell pregnant naturally.

Although George had asked that his donation remain anonymous, the details were revealed by Deal or No Deal's former executive producer Richard Osman following George Michael's death.
