Watch: Dublin woman takes a giant leap of faith as she proposes to long term love on Irish radio – 'Derek I love you’

Jeanette O’Brien asked her partner Derek to marry her in Powerscourt Centre this afternoon, live on Dublin's Q102fm after more than 14 years together.

Unbeknownst to Derek, Jeanette had entered a competition with the station which prompted her to pop the all important question.

“I just want to say to you Derek, I love you. I really, really love you. I wanted to say thank you for everything you’ve ever done for me. I absolutely adore you honey,” said Jeanette.

“Will you marry me?”

The lucky bride to be was met with a big ‘Yes’ as a crowd broke into applause.

Although she was the one to ask the all important question, it is Jeanette who will be donning the €2,500 sparkler from Commins & Co Jewellers in the Centrel, which she won as part of the competition.
