A bride who lost her son five months before her wedding has paid tribute to him by including his picture in her wedding photographs.
Anna Bozman Thompson, from Atlanta USA, and her fiancé Travis lost their son Lake (8) in May to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and wanted their late son to be a part of their wedding as much as their two younger children.
The couple’s friend, photographer Brandy Angel, worked with the pair to incorporate their son into their family photo taken on their wedding day on October 9.
In Lake’s memory, the family have set up a Facebook page ‘Prayers for Lake’ on which they shared the precious image.
“So many emotions today as Lake has been gone for six months now,” Anna wrote.
“Somehow I have managed to continue going but there have been many days that I did not think I could. I have honestly been making it minute to minute as grief is a huge roller coaster. My two little ones have been a huge motivation but my main source of motivation is the promise that through Christ I will see my son again and live an eternal life.
“I cling to this every day. Although my family will never be complete here on Earth, we will be in Heaven. I do know that Lake has been watching over us especially when we got married. He made sure that it would be a day that none of us would forget,” Anna said.
“[The pictures] turned out beautiful and thanks to my amazing photographer she was able to get some special edits done. I needed this picture more than she or anyone could ever know. This is my family. And we will be together again.”
Anna revealed that she felt Lake’s presence throughout her wedding day, and believes he was responsible for the sunny weather they were blessed with.
“My angel was hard at work once again yesterday,” wrote Anna.
“The weather and the whole day was just perfect. I honestly felt Lake's presence there. I know he wanted me and my whole family to enjoy this special day and we did. He made sure of it.”
