Which tipple will you splash out on in the pub?

While there has been a 6% decrease in alcohol sales in pubsover the past year, we still drink more out of the home than our UK neighbours, according to Marie Buckley, Senior Account Manager at Nielsen. So what will most of us be buying this Christmas?
In 'first of its kind' research conducted by Nielsen and published in a report by Hospitality Ireland last week, it seems that we still believe that Guinness is "good for you".
The survey of sales at 8,643 pubs, clubs and hotels around Ireland saw Guinness coming in at No. 1 in the 'draught' category, followed by Heineken and Budweiser. We go for Smirnoff first in spirits, followed by Jameson and Hennessy, and when it comes to wine Wolf Blass is the most-purchased tipple.
