Santa suit shipment arrives for Christmas Charity Fun Run

Paddy Matthews and Jimmy Cumiskey, Dundalk Chamber of Commerce, with David Minto of Horseware, along with Maeve Yore, SNAP and Paula Hanlon, Lordship Children's Respite Centre and some of the Santas who are taking part in the Dundalk Santa Fun Run in Horseware for the arrivial of 4,000 Santa suits for the Run.

Dundalk Chamber of Commerce, as part of the organising body of the Dundalk Christmas Charity Fun Run received a shipment of 4000 Santa Suits on Thursday morning for the Guinness World Record attempt for the most Santa's running a mile this November.

Excitement is mounting for what promises to be a wonderful event in Dundalk's history. Applications are flooding in and the committee is working around the clock with preparations for this fantastic run.

The Santa Run is the opening event of the town's Festival of Light and Culture and takes place on Friday November 29 at 6.30 p.m., with all the Santas departing from the Millennium Buildings, St Alphonsus Road to the Demesne.

This event will help a number of local charities including SOSAD, Louth Men's Shed, North Louth Hospice, SNAP and Lordship Children's Respite Centre. In addition to the main charities other local groups, clubs and organisations will also benefit from this historical run.

If you are not signed up already then register now for this great fun filled evening. Fee is €10 per person or €25 per family of any age suits and tags are provided.
