Christmas is only 25 days away, so be sure to have your letters and parcels sent and ready to go within the next few weeks if you want them to reach your friends and family at home and abroad in time.

If you're sending a letter or parcel through standard post within the Republic of Ireland, December 21st is the last posting date. The last date through express post is December 22nd, although that costs extra.

Letters and parcels through standard post to Northern Ireland need to be sent a day earlier, December 20th, while mailings through express post can be sent on the 21st.

Sending letters and parcels abroad takes a few days longer, so be sure to send them before December 19th if you're posting to Great Britain through standard or registered post.

The final date for sending letters through standard post to Europe is the 19th, while parcels should be sent by the 13th.

As for the USA, standard post letters should be sent by December 12th and parcels by the 9th.

The date for the rest of the world is December 7th for standard post letters and parcels.
