Crowds flock to top store as Santa Claus comes to town
Santa Claus flew in from the North Pole and arrived in a horse-drawn carriage at Arnott's flagship store on Middle Abbey Street in Dublin yesterday.
Garda outriders escorted him as hundreds of delighted children, including two-year-old Tess McDonnell and her mother Sarah from Donnybrook, greeted him at the door where snow from a snow-machine swirled around to launch his annual Yuletide visit. He was met by more excited children at his grotto on the first floor of the shop to hear their wishlists.
He will be in residence at the grotto every day until Christmas Eve when he will get back on his reindeer-drawn sleigh for his annual gift drop for deserving children.
