Christmas-loving Irish family have already decorated their house: ‘If I could get away with having them up all year I would’
Christmas has come early for one Dublin family who spent Bank Holiday Monday pulling down their decorations from the attic seven weeks before the big day.
Pamela Daly from Clonkee and her family, husband Wanye and daughters Isabelle (3) and Emily (8), have already transformed their home into a winter wonderland because they are such big admirers of the holiday.
“I’ve always loved Christmas,” said Pamela.
“Every year on November 1 we get the decorations down and just go for it. My friends are always expecting the pictures at the beginning of November. My kids are at an age where they love Christmas so it’s great fun in our house. I’d probably have them up for the year if I could,” she joked.
The mum-of-two has an impressive collection of Christmas decorations and her tree boasts momentos from all over the world. Pamela revealed that the finishing touches are being put on her lights this evening.
“My style would definitely be traditional, reds and golds. Over the years I’ve picked up so much. When I’m away and I spot something I would always pick it up. There’s decorations from all over the world. My girls love Disney so there’s a lot of Disney princesses on our tree, Ariel and Belle are favourites,” she said.
Seven weeks ahead of Santa’s annual trip around the world, Pamela said those who moan about Christmas arriving too early are definitely bah-humbugs.
“Everyone is different but for me it’s never too early,” she said.
