"We knew Dilon (now two) would be our last so that was a big part of the thinking behind getting the pictures.
"He was also my first home birth so I was excited about capturing that," says Annette, from Co Wicklow, who is married to Brian and also mum to Lorcan (nine), Alienor (seven) and Eloi (four).
"My first birth was quite traumatic and I probably wouldn't have wanted a photographer there, but for the others it would have been nice.
"There's such a blur after giving birth. And I wouldn't expect my husband to take photos, he was too busy supporting me.
"When I came to researching what was available in Ireland I couldn't find anything. It was my midwife, Philomena Canning, who recommended Claire Wilson (newborn.ie).
"The night Dilon was born, I totally forgot the photographer was there, I was just in the moment. We have amazing photos of him coming out under the water and there are lovely ones of Brian holding my hand through labour. But my favourite ones are the ones when he was just born.
"I love to be able to go back and look at them every so often but I've never shared them on social media, it's just not my style. I put a few on my family blog but there are some that are just for us to look at, I don't feel anyone else needs to see."
