Young man seriously injured after being struck by car in Dublin city centre

Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Dublin City this evening.

At approximately 5 p.m. a male pedestrian, aged in his 20s, was seriously injured when he was struck by a car at the junction of Leeson St. and Mespil Road.

He was taken by ambulance to St. Vincent’s Hospital.

The driver of the car was uninjured.

The scene is preserved pending a technical examination and diversions are in place.
