World War II grenade discovery sparks Galway evacuation of homes overnight

THIRTY houses were evacuated in Galway overnight when a World War II grenade was found in a garden at Rahoon.

The viable device was discovered at 10.30pm and the area was declared safe by the Army Bomb squad at 1.30am.



Residents were then allowed to return home.
