Woman knifed in city centre

GARDAI were last night hunting for a man who stabbed a woman in Dublin city centre. Horrified passers-by looked on as the man attacked the 26-year-old woman with a knife near the Jervis Luas stop on Abbey Street at around 7.30pm.

Witnesses described seeing the victim collapsing on to the Luas line as the man fled the scene on foot. The woman was taken to the Mater Hospital, where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
