Woman fights for her life after road accident

A WOMAN is fighting for her life in hospital after a road crash involving a car and lorry, writes Brendan Farrelly.

The collision happened near Brannockstown on the Longwood to Trim Road in Co Meath at about 1.30pm yesterday. The woman was named locally as Louise Bridge (31), from Ballivor, Co Meath.

She had to be cut from her car and was rushed by ambulance to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown, Dublin. She was later said to be in a serious condition. She was alone in the car at the time.

The crash scene, at a road junction, was closed to traffic as garda collision investigators, examined the area. Traffic diversions were put in place.
