Woman arrested after hammer attack leaves victim with facial injuries

Police have arrested a woman in Belfast on suspicion of attempted murder after a hammer attack in the city.

A woman has been struck with a hammer in north Belfast.

She sustained injuries to her face and was taken to hospital.

Another woman aged 35 was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and taken to Musgrave police station where she is being questioned.

The victim is aged in her 20s and was assaulted in the Enfield Parade area on Saturday night.

Detectives appealed for witnesses.
