Woman (60s) dies from injuries following Meath road crash

A woman in her 60s has been killed in a road traffic accident in Co Meath.

The incident - in which two cars collided - occurred on the Athboy Road in Trim at 6.50pm yesterday evening.

The woman who was fatally injured was the driver of one of the cars.

She was taken from the scene by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, suffering from a serious leg injury.

She died from her injuries in the early hours of this morning.

The driver of the other car was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
