Woman (60) dies after suffering serious injuries in crash with truck

A woman in her 60s has passed away this morning following a car collision in Co Mayo.
Gardaí at Castlebar are investigating the fatal road collision that occurred at Brize, Claremorris, Co Mayo at 9pm on Thursday October 13.
A car and a tractor collided and the woman (late 60s) was seriously injured and taken to Mayo University Hospital where she passed away this morning.
The male (50s) driver of the tractor was uninjured.
The road between Claremorris and Balla is currently closed to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision investigators and local diversions are in place.

A woman remains in a serious condition in hospital following a three-vehicle collision, involving a truck and two cars, over the weekend.
Amy Sheridan (25) from Ballinagh, Co Cavan, died at Mullingar Hospital shortly after the collision which happened at Hiskinstown, Delvin, Co Westmeath, at 3.30pm on Saturday afternoon.
Laura Ann Finucane (38), originally from Greystones, Co Wicklow, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was a passenger in the same vehicle as Ms Sheridan.
The female driver of a second car, who was its only occupant, was airlifted to Tallaght Hospital. It us understood she remains in a serious condition.

The total number of road fatalities to date this year is 146, according to the RSA.
