Where spending watchdog members stand

* Kieran O'Donnell (FG): Awaiting statement, concerned about integrity of PAC.

* Paul Connaughton (FG): Awaiting statement, but does not agree with what McGuinness said.

* John Deasy (FG): Awaiting statement, but does not agree with what McGuinness said.

* Paschal Donohoe (FG): Awaiting statement, but says "the continuous controversy in relation to Deputy McGuinness is now damaging the ability of our committee to work properly".

* Eoghan Murphy (FG): Awaiting statement, but does not agree with what McGuinness said.

* Simon Harris (FG): Awaiting statement, but called the controversy a "distraction" which is "not sustainable". Also said Mr McGuinness needs to consider his position.

* Robert Dowds (Lab): McGuinness position a matter for Micheal Martin.

* Ged Nash (Lab): McGuinness position a matter for Micheal Martin.

* Derek Nolan (Lab): McGuinness position a matter for Micheal Martin.

* Sean Fleming (FF): Has confidence in Mr McGuinness.

* Shane Ross (IND): "As far as I am concerned McGuinness is wrong about spouses of ministers needing to travel at state expense – in virtually any circumstances. It is impossible to justify." Says McGuinness must temporarily leave PAC chair to deal with issue.

* Mary-Lou McDonald (SF): Says McGuinness "undoubtedly has questions to answer" but has been a "fair and impartial" PAC chair.
