If you have your eye on making your way onto the rich list, there is some good news.

A new wealth report has predicted that an additional 24,900 people will be classified as millionaires by 2026.

Estate agent Knight Frank's annual wealth report has found that Irish people with investable assets of more $1m (€950,000) grew by 4,700 last year in 2016.

Investable assets does not include a person's home.

The Estate Agent has also predicted that the number of people on the rich list will grow rapidly in the next 10 years. In the decade leading to 2016, an extra 16,600 people were added to the rich list.

But it is expected to grow by almost a third in the next 10 years.

The number of multi-millionaires (people with investable assets of €10m- €28m)  in Ireland also grew last year to 2,760 and we are expected to have just over 3,500 by 2026.

A third of Ireland's millionaires live in the capital the data shows.
