Garda Daniel Hickey

Convicted of assault causing harm.

Facing up to five years in prison. Resigned from the force on Monday.

Garda John Burke

Convicted of acting in a manner intended to pervert the course of justice.

Perverting the course of justice in theory can attract a maximum life sentence. However, most people convicted of the offence receive less than three years in prison.

Sgt Martha McEnery

Found not guilty of assault causing harm, but guilty of assault. Facing a fine of up to €1,905 or a maximum six-month jail term or both.

May face disciplinary action but expected to hold on to her job as other gardai convicted of assaults have done.Sgt Alan Kissane

Acquitted of assault causing harm.

Expected to return to work without any disciplinary action.
