What recession? Spend on weddings still €20,000

Newly published research shows that brides and grooms are still spending an average of €20,000 on their nuptials.
The figure includes the cost of everything from hiring a room, to the wedding band and wedding rings.
And the survey, conducted by weddingface.ie, has revealed that the average Irish hotel is still charging €7,000 to host a wedding reception.
"We were surprised with the results ourselves, that even in these tough financial times Irish couples are still happy to pay €20,000 for their big day," said Alan Joyce, director of the wedding-planner company.
