Westlife star wins battle to raise height of wall

SINGER Kian Egan has won a legal battle with neighbours who objected to his plans to raise the height of a wall around his home, writes Greg Harkin.

The former Westlife star had been told by Sligo County Council he couldn't add 70cm to the wall, a move designed to put off nosy fans. But the decision has been reversed.

The star, who is married to former 'Hollyoaks' actress Jodi Albert, was told of the decision before he flew to Australia last week for his appearance on last night's TV3 show 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here'.

The couple were ordered by the council earlier this year to remove a metre-high wooden fence from the top of the stone boundary wall.

Last night a source close to the couple said: "Kian and Jodi are relieved this is all over."
