Massive cheers, hands in the air and bras being thrown at him from all directions, shopkeeper Sean Murray could be West Cork’s answer to Tom Jones.
The Skibbereen man put his bra-unclasping skills to the test for a good cause and broke the world record for charity, single-handedly opening a massive 91 bras in one minute.
Murray, of Sean Murray Fashions, smashed the previous record of 69 bras being opened with one hand in 60 seconds.
One hand behind the back and a face of intense concentration, Murray methodically marched behind the line of volunteers, snapping the bras open at a rate of one and a half every second.
Both men and women lined up for record-breaking event as they raised funds and the profile of Get The Girls breast cancer campaign for the Irish Cancer Society.
“It’s a very, very enjoyable way of raising a few bob and it’s for a brilliant cause,” Murray told the crowd of grinning volunteers as they fastened and fixed their underwear back into place.
The willing participant broke the world record on all three attempts, unclasping a whopping 82 and 86 bras in a single minute in his first two rounds.
Murray is awaiting the confirmation from the Guinness Book of Records, but the Corkonian can be confident that he will feature as the man with the world’s best bra-opening skills.
