CATHERINE Egan, 28, from Offaly, landed a role with Fanfootage just weeks after she was made redundant in the media industry.
She proved a successful coup for the company and bagged Fanfootage a job with Bon Jovi, and she has never looked back since losing her job.
Fanfootage enables music fans to send their own recorded footage from a particular concert, and have it matched to a professional sound quality, completely free of charge.
"It's daunting when you lose your job but I was freelancing as a social media consultant and I had a positive attitude," she said.
"I got the job after meeting Cathal the CEO at Dublinstarts this year. And I went to the Bon Jovi gig this year with my friend who landed us backstage passes, and Bon Jovi's management was there and they asked me what I did."
"They were interested in Fanfootage and they emailed me literally the next day - I didn't have to email them. I had never done a sales pitch in my life, but it just went from there."
"They're the number one touring selling act in 2013, and I got to hang out with the team, and now we're working with them."
Fanfootage has had €100,000 in investment from both a private investor and Enterprise Ireland, and the future is now bright for the startup.
Dubliner Eoin O'Driscoll, 30, said this morning: "At a gig, people can get great footage on their phones or camera, but the sound is really bad. But now fans can choose a song they like from the gig and they can upload it to our site or on our app, and we can match their video against perfect sound from our engineer. If someone records even 30 seconds of a song, we can match it."
Fanfootage has already secured funding from a private investor, and they're ready to launch their business on a global stage.
"We're now going towards sport as well so it won't be just concert footage that fans can send us," said Mr O'Driscoll.
The Irish company, which has been two years in development, is also cracking South America by working with musician Marc Anthony on exclusive fan footage.
