Weather warning - Met Eireann issue yellow wind alert this weekend
Winds will reach speeds of 100km on Saturday and Sunday
A status yellow wind warning has been issued by Met Eireann, with gusts of up to 100 km per hour forecast for tomorrow and Sunday.
This weekend's weather is looking rather grim, with unpleasant windy conditions set to effect all areas of the country.
Showers will die out tonight and clear conditions will take hold across the country.
However it will be cold and windy, with lowest temperatures of 1C - 4C degrees and frost occurring in sheltered places.
Tomorrow will also be cold, wet and windy, with rain being widespread in all areas for most of the day.
We can expect temperatures of 7C - 9C.
Sunday morning will be very wet and blustery, with strong to gale force southwest winds, and a risk of spot flooding.
The winds will veer westerly for the afternoon and evening and will moderate slowly and more showery conditions will develop.
Top temperatures 8C - 12C.
Winds will die down overnight and some fog and frost will form over northern areas.
Some persistent rain is expected over Munster and south Leinster, with some sleet possible on high ground around the country.
