ONE of the three innocent women shot during a botched gangland hit today told of her ‘agony’.
Pauline Lynch (34) said: “We were just at the wrong place at the wrong time.”
The three women were shot as a gunman, who had attempted to kill feared drug dealer Greg Lynch (right), fired indiscriminately as he fled.
Lynch (28) remains in a serious condition in hospital after being shot in the face during the attack outside Hanlon's pub on Dublin's northside.
Clutching her right leg as she spoke from her home today, Pauline Lynch (above) said she is “in agony”.
Fellow victims Sinead Carey (28) and 19-year-old Lauren O’Brien (left) are both recovering from their injuries.
All three women had been at a 21st birthday party at the pub when a gunman approached at around 2.30am while they were standing outside the bar.
The gunman, who was wearing a balaclava, opened fire at criminal Greg Lynch, hitting him in the face.
He then ran to a waiting BMW car and continued firing back towards the pub as he ran, hitting the three women as he fled.
Fighting back tears at her south Dublin home, Pauline Lynch told the Herald that she is “in agony”.
She was clutching her right leg as she spoke briefly about the moment she was shot outside the pub.
She said that she has just taken painkillers for her injuries. Asked about how she is feeling, she replied: “I only took the painkiller now and I'm just in agony with it now at the moment.”
Another gun victim, Lauren O'Brien, said she did not wish to discuss the incident.
Asked how she was feeling, she replied: “I'm grand but I don't want to say anything about it.”
Meanwhile, Sinead Carey remains in hospital after suffering a severe injury.
Ms Carey (28), from the Coombe area of Dublin city, was hit in the upper thigh by the gunman in his attempt to kill convicted heroin dealer Greg Lynch.
The gunman fired at will on the crowd gathered outside the bar as he fled the scene.
Ms Carey received the worst injuries of the three innocent women injured in the gun attack.
Friends sent her messages of support to her Facebook account yesterday.
Ms Lynch and Ms O'Brien who were shot were released from hospital yesterday after receiving treatment for their injuries.
