Warning as video shows teens jumping off treacherously high bridge

A VIDEO posted online shows Irish teenagers jumping off a massive bridge.
The video is shot on the now disused Sheriff St. Lifting Bridge on the Royal Canal, and was posted online yesterday.
The footage, originally posted on Today South Dublin shows the teens jumping off the top of the bridge down in to the canal below.
One jumper can be seen nervously peering over the edge of the bridge, before making the huge plunge in to the canal below.
The Coastguard has issued a warning in light of the video highlighting the dangers of jumping.
A spokesperson warned that the tides could change, meaning that deep water could become quite shallow.
They warned that anyone jumping from a bridge of that height could be risking serious spinal injuries.
Irish Water Safety have urged the public to be cautious when around water, as the sunny weather sees more people choose to take a dip.
Thousands of young students finish their state exams this week – with many expected to celebrate in the good weather.
Met Eireann expects temperatures to peak as high as 29 degrees in some parts later today.
