Violet Quigley: An apology

On Friday 11 March 2016, an article appeared in the Herald under the title: ‘No charges over horror knife attack on solicitor at her home” and on independent.ie entitled “No charges over horror knife attack on solicitor at her home by masked man wielding a knife and a claw hammer.’
These articles stated that Violet Quigley was “targeted because of a financial dispute”.
We acknowledge that Violet Quigley was in no way financially involved with her attacker or anyone who may be connected with her attacker.
We unreservedly apologise to Violet Quigley and her family for the distress caused to her.
