Vandalism spree leaves 28 cars damaged

GARDAI have appealed for witnesses to come forward after vandals went on a rampage through a town, causing thousands of euro in damage to more than two dozen cars.

They slashed tyres, threw flowerpots and bricks through windscreens and tore off windscreen wipers.

The vandalism took place in Clane, Co Kildare, between 3am and 4.30am on Monday. In total, 28 vehicles were damaged.

A 20-year-old man from the Capdoo area was arrested and was last night bailed to appear before Naas District Court next Wednesday.

Sergeant Paul Reilly said he believed at least one other person was involved.
