Van driver injured after collision with a coach on the N7

AT LEAST one man has been injured in a serious road accident involving a coach and a van tonight.

The incident happened on the N7 inbound, near junction three at Citywest in Dublin, just after 10pm.

It is understood that there were a number of passengers on the coach, but none were seriously injured.

The driver of the van was injured in the collision however his condition is not currently known.

A garda spokesman said that traffic restrictions were in place. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

In October, there were chaotic delays on the N7 - one of the busiest roads in the country - following a fatal crash which claimed the life of an elderly pedestrian.

Some motorists reported that they ran out of petrol because of the gridlock that virtually shutdown the three-lane road.

There were reports that it took four hours to travel the 10km from Bluebell in Clondalkin to Citywest.
