Up to €440,000 worth of cannabis seized in two separate operations

Gardai have seized approximately 500 cannabis plants - with a street value of €440,000 - in Kilkee, Co Clare area today in two separate cultivation operations.

The first discovery was made at around 10am this morning when gardaí searched a house in Lislanahan, Kilkee. A total of 200 cannabis plants - with an estimated street value of €160,000 - were recovered from the property.

A male and female, both aged 23, were arrested in connection with the drug cultivation and are currently detained at Kilrush Garda station.

In a second operation, a property in Tullaroe, Kilkee was searched and 300 cannabis plants - with an estimated street value of €280,000 - were discovered.

A male in his 50s was arrested in relation to this haul and is currently being detained at Ennis Garda station.

The plants are currently being analysed by authorities involved in the operations.
