Conor Murray was the toast of the Zurich Players' Player Awards in Dublin. Murray beat the other two nominations, Robbie Henshaw and Tadgh Furlong, to the Players' Player of the Year Award.

Amongst the guests were Craig Gilroy, Robbie Henshaw, Rory Best, Andrew Trimble and Peter O'Mahony.

Murray was hailed as an "unbelievable" player by fellow teammate CJ Stander: "He's one of those players who always picks us up and always ready for the big games. Fair play to him, he's been good the last few years and it's probably the highest honour you can get to get [to be] selected by your teammates," said the Irish flanker.

Amidst the glitz and the glamour of the Clayton Hotel in south Dublin, talk remained firmly on the "good draw" Ireland received in Pool A for the 2019 World Cup.

"We're happy with it, there's a lot of other groups that would have been tougher to be in," said Stander.
