Two young men were left fighting for their lives in Dublin last night following two separate violent attacks in the city.
A man in his 20's suffered stab wounds to his stomach during the first incident which occurred just metres away from the capital's main thoroughfare.
The shocking events unfolded at 10.20pm last night in Cavendish Row, which links to O'Connell Street, in Dublin City Centre.
It's believed the injured man managed to make his way to a nearby hotel where he collapsed outside.
Staff from the hotel called the emergency services who arrived a short time later.
He was rushed to the Mater Hospital where he is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries.
In a separate frenzied attack, a 20-year-old man was set upon by three men wielding metal poles.
The attack occurred shortly after 11.30pm in the Willow Wood Walk area of Blanchardstown.
It's believed he suffered serious head injuries during the brutal assault.
The young man was rushed to Blanchardstown Hospital where he is said to be in a stable but critical condition.
