TWO teenagers have appeared in court after a taxi was hi-jacked at knifepoint.

Hugh Kavanagh (18) of Shanamore, Clareview, Limerick and Aaron Moloney (19) of McGarry House, Limerick, were brought before Limerick District Court yesterday.

Det Pat Whelan charged Aaron Moloney with unlawful seizure of a taxi at St Nessan's Road on Saturday night.

Judge Eugene O'Kelly heard that when charged, the accused replied: "Is that the only charge?"

Mr Moloney, who is unemployed, was granted legal aid and did not seek bail.

Hugh Kavanagh, who is charged with the same offence by Det Padraic O'Dwyer, replied, "I accept these charges." He was also granted legal aid.

Both accused were remanded in custody to appear before the same court today.
