Two stabbed in aggravated burglary in Limerick

GARDAI are investigating an aggravated burglary and assaults at an apartment early this morning

Gardai at at Henry Street in Limerick are investigating the incident at Lower Glentworth Street at approximately 1.20am this morning.

A lone male entered the apartment and assaulted two male occupants.

Both men – aged 22 and 23 – received stab wounds but the injuries are not life threatening.

Property including cash and mobile phones were stolen during the incident.

“In follow up operation Gardaí arrested a 34 year old man nearby in connection with this incident,” a garda spokesman said.

“He is currently detained at Henry Street Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984.”
