Two remain in custody over pub murder

Two men remained in custody today for questioning over the murder of a 39-year-old man at a rural pub in Co Derry.

A third man arrested yesterday in connection with the killing of Gary Butcher, from the village of Magilligan, has been released on bail pending further police inquiries.

Mr Butcher died after a disturbance in Bob's Bar and Bistro on the Seacoast Road between Limavady and Benone late on Friday night.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at around 1am on Saturday.

A 19-year-old and 25-year-old man arrested in the wake of the killing continue to be quizzed be detectives.

The released man, aged 51, was taken into custody yesterday afternoon.

The bar remained cordoned off throughout yesterday as forensic officers carried out examinations.
