TWO people have been airlifted to Galway University Hospital after a suspected stabbing incident on Inis Mór.
The two, believed to be men aged in their 40s and 60s, were were allegedly involved in an altercation around lunchtime.
They were taken by separate helicopters to hospital.
Gardai said a "couple of individuals" have been airlifted to ambulance after an incident on the Aran Islands.
They did not confirm the nature of the incident or what kind of injuries had been sustained by those taken to hospital.
It remains unclear how many people have been injured in the incident and Gardai were unable to confirm on which of the islands it has occurred.
