TWO men are recovering in hospital after a gun attack in Co Tipperary.

The men - aged 20 and 22 - were targeted by a gunman in the Townpark area of Templemore at about 2am.

One suffered a shot wound to the back and the other was injured in the hand.

They were rushed South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel, where their injuries were described as not life-threatening.

The man with the hand injury was later transferred to Cork University Hospital for surgery.

The scene of the shooting is sealed off pending a Garda technical examination.

A Garda spokesman said no arrests have been made and investigations are continuing.
