Two men killed in separate road crashes

Two men have been killed in road accidents today.

A 78-year-old man was killed after a car accident in Co Tipperary this morning, while a man (68) died in Kilkenny in a three car collison.

At around 11.30am a man's car left the roadway and struck concrete pier on a local road at Gortnahoe near Thurles.

The man was treated at the scene by emergency services but died a short time later.

His body was removed to University Hospital Waterford for a post-mortem examination. He was the sole occupant of the car.

In the Kilkenny crash, a three-car collision occurred at Dangan, Thomastown Co. Kilkenny.

At approximately 10.55am a 68-year-old male, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle was fatally injured after being involved in a three car collision.

The man was treated at the scene by emergency services but died a short time later. His body has been removed to Waterford Regional Hospital. Two other males were brought to St Lukes Hospital with what is believed to be non life threatening injuries.
