Two men killed in road traffic accident this morning

Two people have been killed in an accident in south Tipperary

There was a serious road accident in which two men were killed on the Tipperary-Waterford border this morning.

The accident happened near Twomile Bridge, Clonmel and the road which leads from Ferryhouse to Harneys cross will remain closed for the next few hours.

Two men were fatally injured, believed to be in their 50’s, when the lorry they were travelling in lost control.

It is understood the lorry was descending a steep hill when it overturned. Both men were killed instantly.

Gardai are still at the scene and are carrying out forensic tests.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Carrickabrone, shortly after 9.15 this morning.
