A MOTORBIKE enthusiast was one of two men killed in separate road crashes over the weekend.

A father-of-one, named locally as Liam Fitzpatrick, died after his motorbike collided with a wall at Kilballyowen, just outside the town of Bruff, Co Limerick, shortly after 5pm yesterday.

Friends and those who knew Mr Fitzpatrick's family paid tribute to the husband and motorbike lover, who died at the scene. Gardai from Bruff appealed to anyone who might have seen the incident to contact them at 061 382940.

Separately, Patrick O'Connor (33), from the Navan area of Co Meath, died on Saturday after the car he was driving struck a wall on the Navan to Kingscourt Road at Kilberry. He was taken to Navan hospital with serious injuries but pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
