Two men have been arrested in connection with the seizure of drugs valued at €1million.

Gardai seized "a significant quantity of heroin" after they stopped and searched a vehicle yesterday.

Two Dublin men (aged 20 and 45) were arrested and are currently detained, under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Kevin Street and Irishtown Garda stations.

The seizure was made as part of an intelligence led operation targeting an organised crime group operating in the Ballyfermot area of Dublin.
